Adelson, Lois M. Lois M. Adelson, 86 of Duluth, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Benedictine Health Center, Duluth. ^^Lois Marlyne Gershgol was born Feb. 23, 1926 in Duluth, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Polinsky) Gershgol. ^^She attended and graduated from Duluth Central High School. She married Charles Adelson on June 9, 1946 in Duluth. ^^She was a member of the Temple Israel Congregation. ^^Lois was very artistic, and enjoyed music. She also passed on her love of animals to her children and grandchildren. ^^She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles and granddaughter, Becky Walsh. ^^Lois is survived by her daughter Michele Walsh of Duluth; her son Mike Adelson (Steph Marshall) of Hermantown; grandchildren Matt, Aaron (Sarah), Nathan, and Sarah; her great-grandson Asher; Jack Walsh of Portage, Wis., and Linda Adelson Smith of Duluth. ^^PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES: were held at Tifereth Israel Cemetery in Duluth. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555. ^^ Deceased Name: CHARLES ADELSON Charles Adelson, 93, of London Road, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, in Primrose Assisted Living. He was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Duluth, to Max and Ida (Verba) Adelson. Charles graduated valedictorian from Duluth Central High School in 1935. After graduation, he started a 40 year career with the U. S. Postal Service, retiring as Superintendent of Mail. Charles married Lois M. Gershgol on June 9, 1946, in Duluth. He was a member of Temple Israel Congregation. Charles enjoyed reading, and walking the many dogs he loved. He was a very loving and kind man who touched the heart of everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister; three brothers; and his granddaughter, Becky Walsh. Charles is survived by his wife of more than 64 years, Lois; his daughter, Michele Walsh of Duluth; his son, Mike Adelson (Steph Marshall) of Hermantown; his four grandchildren, Matt, Aaron (Sarah), Nathan and Sarah; his great-grandson, Asher; Jack Walsh of Portage, Wis.; Linda Adelson of Duluth; and many friends. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staffs of Primrose Assisted Living and St. Luke's Hospice for their compassion, kindness and wonderful care.
